August2014 Road Trip: Days 8-10-Lake George NY

Our time in the Adirondacks has flown by.   There is so much more we would love to do here, kayaking on the Hudson River, more hikes, free concerts.  We would love to rent a place for a month up here :)

Hubby enjoyed 2 more days at a the Saratoga Race Track .

We've done 3 hikes.  One to nearby Echo Lake on Sunday evening (below)

One shorter one on Monday evening to a Palmer Pond near Chestertown.

The last hike was the most beautiful, it was 6 miles RT named the Sleeping Beauty trail around the Eastern shores of Lake George and up to Shelving Rock Falls.

We climbed down the rocks below, had lunch,  relaxed & soaked our feet in the cool waters of Shelving Rock brook before continuing back
The waterfall is 50 ft high

The hiking trail brought us through so much beautiful scenery, we hardly realized we had hiked 6 miles..

Wednesday night we had dinner at Mezzaluna's Italian Restaurant.  Hubby had spaghetti with meatballs and I had fresh mozzarella & tomato panini, both were delish.  Afterwards, we attended a Beatles Tribute outdoor concert by the Lake.  The band was very good.

With the exception of Saratoga Racetrack & supper, all of our activities in the Adirondacks have been free.
