August2014 Road Trip: Day 14-Burlington VT

We left Bar Harbor after our free breakfast and drove back through New Hampshire.  It was a gorgeous day, we had cool breezes blowing through the windows the whole time.  The view was somewhat foggy on our way to Maine but this time it was such a clear day we could see the entire mountains.  AMAZING!

We stopped for lunch at a roadside BBQ shack in Bethel, Maine.  We ate on picnic tables surrounded by gorgeous views of the White Mountains

It was nearly 4:30 by time we arrived in Burlington VT.  We are staying at the Holiday Inn-So Burlington.  It is an older hotel but clean with big rooms.  Their complimentary breakfast was decent with plenty options.

As soon as we settled our belongings in our room, we drove to the lakefront for the evening. We bought some maple creamees which is just another name for maple flavored ice cream..

I loved watching the college rowing teams practice.

We watched the sunset over Lake Champlain before leaving.

I snapped this picture of Winged Monkeys from the Wizard of Oz watching over the boardwalk from on top of an old Union Train station....I just thought they were cool & also kind of creepy :)

We were exhausted after such a long drive, supper was soup from Panera's.
