Today is the beginning of Leg 2 of our journey. It begins here in Valparaiso and ends in Buenos Aires Argentina.
Today Hubby didn't feel like going ashore so I did a walking tour with a group of 8 others. Our tour guide was Leo and a native with an artistic flair. Boy did we walk! We began with a ride on one of their elevators (tram) with a great view of the harbor. From there we walked around the city which was many alleys with stairs everywhere! One elevator was inside a mountain where you had to walk through an underground tunnel to get to it. I thoroughly enjoyed our day of discovery, even though my legs hurt lol
We ate lunch in a local dive that sold hamburgers/hot dogs. My hotdog was huge, covered with guacamole. I was surprised to see they use french style green beans on their hamburgers like we use lettuce. Cokes are expensive - 3-4 dollars each.
Valparaiso has 42 hills/mountains which define a neighborhood. Each hill has its own flavor and classes of residents. Next 2 days will be SeaDays.
