Our innkeeper served a delicious breakfast of yogurt with fresh banana slices, cinnamon scones, poached eggs with fresh tomato & country sausage. We also had delicious coffee & fresh pineapple juice.

We arrived at the cruise port @ 11am to board our ship.

We decided to book an inside cabin for this cruise since the itinerary was port intensive allowing us to use the savings on the areas we visited.  Our cabin was centrally located on the ship, near the atrium and 24hr cafe.

Niagara on the Lake - Winery Tours

We awoke early and after a refreshing 2 hour walk,we had our first delicious breakfast at our B&B.

We collected a winery map then set out to explore them.

The first two were small family owned wineries. Next we did a tour of a larger winery. They explained about growing the vines, how to protect them from insects & disease. They also showed us their harvesting process. Afterwards. We we toured the cellar where we were educated on barrell selection & fermentation. We were then treated to a tasting where we had our first taste of "ice wine" Hubby really liked it.

We enjoyed a fresh handmade pizza topped with local herbs & veggies, very tasty.

After our full day of wine country, we had a delicious supper at an Irish pub. Hubby chose Irish Stew, while I had corn beef & cabbage.

Niagara-On-The-Lake

We had the typical Hampton Inn breakfast. Afterward, we enjoyed a morning walk while exploring our surroundings.

Albany is a city of hilly tree-lines streets sprinkled with cafe's & pubs with front patio chairs. Their Dutch influence is celebrated by huge painted clogs.

We arrived in Niagara On the Lake  around 2pm to a beautiful day. Lots of sunshine with gentle cool breezes. NOTL (wine country) has been a very pleasant surprise.

We booked to nights at the charming Wine Country B&B.

Our room is decorated in rich shades of seafoam green & brown.

Our host greeted us with a friendly smile & graciously assisted us with luggage.

After settling in we were delighted that we could walk to most everything including Lake Ontario.

We returned to our room to cleanup for supper around 5:30p. We choose casual Italian food at The Ole Wine Cellar. I had a veal pasta while Hubby had spaghetti with meatballs, both were very good. Later we stopped for a treat at a small bakery and ate on the porch. Perfect end to a perfect day.
